Here in Norfolk we have a very unique tradition, the mysterious, cheeky Jack Valentine.

Traditionally people would fill bags with tokens of love not just love interests but gifts to make their friends and family smile and be merry and was especially popular with children receiving gifts or even sometimes, tricks depending on how mischievous Jack was feeling. Jack would knock on the door, leave the bag and run away giggling.

Things have changed in the last one hundred years and certainly a lot has changed in the last 12 months however we have had to return to leaving boxes and bags on loved ones doorsteps who may be isolating, shielding or rightfully so staying home.

Burnham Markets beautiful independents have got together to reintroduce, Norfolk’s legendary fun Jack Valentines offering the chance to shop locally and select gifts from the various gift shops, wine merchants, restaurants and boutiques.

We have popped together some gift ideas, but if you browse the rest of the sites you can soon find hundreds of lovely gift ideas.
